CATHY ELLIS, EFM Recording Artist, has been involved in numerous aspects of the Music Industry.
As a COMPOSER-LYRICIST she has had many of her original works and songs recorded by Top Contemporary Artists and as a RECORDING ARTIST-RECORD PRODUCER has had many albums receive acclaim. A member of NARAS (The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the association which sponsors The GRAMMY AWARDS) Ms. Ellis has had several of her songs nominated for Grammys. Also a Composer of Musicals, Ms. Ellis is a member of the prestigious DRAMATIST’S GUILD, and is a member of BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.), both as a writer and as a Publisher (President, Ellis Family Music Co., Inc. and EFM Productions, Inc.). Her Education includes a Bachelor of Music with a Major in Studio Jazz Music from the University of Miami (Florida), and a Masters of Music, also from the University of Miami.

As an author, Ms Ellis has written the "inspired" "Complete Guide for the Guitar", the Original book, "Holiday Guitar" (vol's 1 and 2), "Romantic Guitar" (vol. 1), all of the "Adventures of Gilly, the Guitar", "Basie, the Electric Bass", "Uki, the Ukulele", "Barie, the Baritone Uke", "Denny, the Drumset" and "Kelly,the Keyboard" . She also co-authored "The Advancing Jazz-Pop-Rock Guitarist" (Volume 1) with world renowned Bassist Don Coffman.

Ms. Ellis was guest conductor for the DADE COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT HONORS GUITAR FESTIVALS (from 1984-1989) in which a number of the arrangements contained in the "COMPLETE GUIDE FOR THE GUITAR" were performed and recorded. The arrangements continue to be performed in a number of Guitar Festivals both nationally and internationally. She has also been a guest adjudicator for Music Festivals and Dance Festivals. Ms. Ellis has also been a clinician at many of the State and National Music Educator Conventions including the FMEA, GMEA, WMEA, NYSSMA and MENC. "THE COMPLETE GUIDE FOR THE GUITAR" Series is now the State Adopted Text(s) in many States including Alabama, Arkansas, California (LCL),Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, New York (City), Tennessee, and Utah (rec.).

Ms Ellis is also the author of such "inspired" and acclaimed musicals as "Abraham & Sarah",
"Stayin' Well!", "Job","Fernando & Me", "The Walk","Round and Round" and "Child". with the latest project being the film version of "Fernando & Me", which is receiving RAVE REVIEWS!

She also recently completed her first hard-cover book, the hilarious My Life With Mom which is receiving Rave Reviews!

Besides continuing to work on the textbook series, CD's and musicals, Ms. Ellis's, more recent projects include co-producing CD's for EFM's Artists and co-producing and co-directing with her Mom,
Esther Ellis,and talented director Norton Rodriguez the beautiful Music Video "In My Father's House".
